2026 Fall 12U Baseball

The Horry County FCA Sports 12U Baseball Team is more than a travel baseball team—it's a discipleship team that uses the game of baseball to develop young men of character, integrity, and faith.

Launching in Fall 2026, this competitive team will bring together talented players from across Horry County who desire to grow both on and off the field. Players who are 12 years old or younger are eligible to participate, and younger athletes are encouraged to try out if they possess the ability, maturity, and desire to compete at the 12U level.

Athletes will receive quality baseball instruction while learning what it means to honor God through their attitude, effort, teamwork, and leadership.

Players will participate in practices, tournaments, team devotionals, Scripture studies, prayer, and intentional mentorship from coaches who are committed to investing in each athlete's spiritual, athletic, and personal development. Parents will also be encouraged and equipped as partners in helping raise Christ-centered young men.

The Horry County FCA Sports 12U Baseball Team is built on the belief that success is measured by more than wins and championships. Our greatest goal is to help every player become a stronger follower of Jesus Christ while pursuing excellence on the baseball field.

Play with Purpose. Compete with Excellence. Lead with Character. Live for Christ.

Tyler Zupcic

Tyler played four years as the starting center fielder at Appalachian State under Head Coach Chris Pollard, earning a 2012 Southern Conference Championship and finishing Top 5 all-time in multiple offensive categories. He went on to play professionally in the Frontier League before transitioning to coaching, where he helped lead his alma mater Providence High School to the 2015 North Carolina 4-A State Championship alongside Coach Danny Hignight. From there he served as Director of Baseball Operations at East Carolina under Cliff Godwin, ECU's all-time winningest coach, before spending six years as COO of Baseball Rebellion, one of the top hitting facilities in the country.

Baseball was his whole identity. When that fell apart, so did everything else.

Through the darkest season of his life, Tyler met Racheal, who showed him the love of Jesus in a way nothing else ever had. Grace changed everything. He didn't come to faith with his life cleaned up. It met him in the middle of the mess.

Tyler and Racheal are married and live in Longs, SC. He serves as Executive Director of Crossing Home Ministries in Myrtle Beach, using the platform of baseball to point men, families, and communities toward Christ. Outside of ministry, Tyler works full-time in tech in the oil and gas industry.

Baseball is still his world. It just doesn't own him anymore.

Season Cost

The cost for the Fall 2026 season is $1,600 per player.

To eliminate this expense for participating families, each player will receive tickets to sell for a fundraising giveaway. The fundraising program is designed to cover the entire cost of the season, allowing players and families the opportunity to participate with little to no out-of-pocket expense, provided the fundraising goal is met. This approach not only makes the program more affordable but also helps support the mission and ministry of Horry County FCA Sports.

What's Included

Each player's season fee helps provide a quality experience both on and off the field. The season fee includes:

  • Two game jerseys
  • Two pairs of game pants
  • Two belts
  • Two pairs of socks
  • One game hat
  • One practice hat
  • One practice jersey
  • One team pullover
  • Access to experienced, high-level coaching and player development
  • Practice field rental and maintenance
  • Team baseball equipment for practices and games
  • An FCA Athlete's Bible
  • Team devotion and discipleship study materials

Every dollar invested into the program helps create a first-class experience that allows our coaches to provide quality instruction, intentionally disciple young athletes, and cultivate a culture of excellence. Our desire is to equip each player to compete with integrity, grow in character, deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ, and become the leader God has called them to be—both on and off the baseball field.

Practices

Practices will typically be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Huckabee Park. Players should expect a consistent practice schedule focused on skill development, team concepts, character building, and spiritual growth.

While our coaching staff is committed to helping every player improve, we strongly encourage athletes to continue working with qualified personal instructors or position-specific coaches outside of team practices if they desire to further develop their skills. Additional individual instruction can be a valuable complement to team practices and help players reach their full potential. Our goal is to foster a growth mindset where players are continually learning, improving, and pursuing excellence both on and off the field.

Tournament Schedule

The team will compete in five tournaments, beginning the last weekend of August and concluding at the end of October. Four tournaments will be played in the local Horry County/Myrtle Beach area, with one travel tournament in the Raleigh, North Carolina area, giving players the opportunity to experience competition outside our local region.

We are committed to maintaining a healthy balance between baseball and family life. Whenever possible, we will avoid scheduling tournaments on back-to-back weekends so players have opportunities to enjoy time with their families, friends, church communities, and other important activities.
